- On admission each young person receives an information pack about the home.
- The young person will be introduced to his or her key worker
- A room will be allocated and the young person can spend time with the key worker personalising the room to individual taste
- Time will be spent with the young person introducing him or her to the new environment, staff team, other residents and the local community
- Contact arrangements will be sorted out and the young person will receive support and encouragement to maintain positive contact with his or her family
- Each young person will have sufficient clothing suitable for his or her age, culture and individual identity
- A structured programme will be formulated including education, recreation and personal interests
- The young person will receive weekly pocket money, monthly clothing allowance and special event money e.g. birthday, Christmas etc.
- Young people are encouraged to take pride in their appearance and personal care and receive a regular supply of toiletries and sanitary essentials
- Young people are encouraged and supported in doing their own laundry
